7th Annual Walk for Kids
The central Indianapolis chapters of College Mentors for Kids, Inc. will be hosting the 7th Annual Walk for Kids on March 29. This annual event is a charity walk for mentors and community members alike and will be held at the White River State Park Canal beginning at 2 p.m.
The Walk for Kids is an excellent opportunity to get some exercise while helping better the lives of local children and the surrounding community. Refreshments will be provided after the one-mile walk, in addition to a complimentary goody bag!
College Mentors for Kids exposes children to college life and the opportunities available to them by focusing on higher education, community service, culture and diversity. College Mentors targets children who may otherwise be unaware of college and its numerous opportunities. Our activities take place weekly on twenty Indiana campuses and one Illinois campus. We currently reach over 800 children – 211 in central Indianapolis alone.
You can register the day of the event. The registration fees are $15 as an individual, or $10 per person for a team of five or more. Come enjoy fresh air, food, and music with all proceeds benefitting the five chapters in central Indianapolis at Butler University, IUPUI, Ivy Tech, Marian College, and University of Indianapolis.
